SLA 3D PRINTING
SLA printing takes place through vat photopolymerization using a light source to polymerize the liquid resin, transforming it into hard plastic. Resins used are thermosetting and light-reactive materials. SLA printing compared to FDM technology has the advantage of offering greater details accuracy, finish and resolution, making it particularly suitable in case the product needs such features.

TecHNOLOGY
Selection of materials
As in FDM printing, SLA technology offers different materials with different properties.
Among the different resins we can find characteristics such as hardness, high and low temperature resistance, impact resistance, elasticity and others, which determine the final choice for the manufacturing of the product.
Resins
Universal Resin
This resin is extremely versatile. It can be used for any type of object that requires high details, well defined contours and great dimensional stability.
PROS
-
Well defined borders
-
High detail
- Great dimensional stability
ConS
-
Brittle
-
Low impact resistanc
ABS-Like Resin
ABS-Like resin allows the production of pieces or details with properties similar to the ABS, therefore with high impact resistance and excellent hardness that allows printing of parts the require a resistance and durability over time. Compared to ABS this resin maintains a very high definition in the details.
PROs
-
Great durability over time
-
High stiffness
-
Heat resistance
ConS
-
Not suitable for parts with thin wall
Nano-micro Composite Resin
The reinforced nano-micro composite resin has high stiffness and bending resistance as well as excellent chemical resistance. Ideal for production of high performance parts.
PROS
-
Stiffness
-
Flexural strength
-
Chemical resistanceRigidit
ConS
-
Not suitable for parts with thin walls
- Relatively brittle
Transparent Resin
Transparent resin properties are almost identical to the universal resin with the differences that this it can be post-processed to achieve the transparency of the material.
PROS
-
Well defined borders
-
High details
-
Great dimensional stability
-
Transparency
ConS
-
Brittle
-
Low Impact resistance
Flexible
Resin
This flexible resin is a matt black photpolymer.
This resin has excellent mechanical properties: shore A55 hardness and elongation at break of 160%.
This features make it perfect for production of resistant and elastic industrial parts.
PROS
- High elongation
- Soft to the touch
- Excellent elasticity
ConS
-
Poor resistance to humidy (hygroscopic)
Dental Models
Resin
This resin is a photopolymer with a rosy color.
Almost odorless, precise and dimensionally stable it’s ideal for the production of dental models, termoforming and aligners.
PROS
-
Dimensional accuracy
-
Low shrinkage
